Moosewood cookbooks, their restaurant, and a visit in the late 80’s have been simmering in my brain. When I was 18 years old, I worked in a collectively run vegetarian restaurant in Madison WI (The Main Course). We used so many of the Moosewood recipes, that naturally when I had the chance to visit- I did! When I started here at the General Store in 1993, there really was not a cafe anymore- the dining area was mostly filled with grocery shelves. Moosewood was always in my heart and thought process as I built the cafe into the busy restaurant that it has become. (as I sit here my feet are sore from yet another super busy Saturday)

This post was inspired by the article recently published in the New York Times, about Moosewood Restaurant as it is today- so now I want to go back!
